It has been built and paid for, but it's been sitting in a Marlyand warehouse for years. There are no plans to launch it, even though both France and Ukraine have offered to do so for free. Instant-runoff voting is the single most effective way to increase representation in government and bring serious change to the current two-party system. Currently, it is nearly impossible for any candidate to run an successful presidential campaign as a third party or independent. Instant runoff voting changes this. Voters indicate their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc, choice in an election. If no candidate receives a majority of votes, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated and his/her votes are awarded to the voters #2 choice. The congressmen ran a campaign based on a committment to 2 terms and out. I want to know why he did not fulfill his promise. What factors led to his apparent change of mind.

Can you explain the reasoning for the latest farm bill? It seems like 1.5 Million is too much income to receive subsidies. Is this just politics as usual or is there a solid reason that can't be explained in a sound bite? Is so, point me to a web page.

I believe talking points severely decrease the amount of time individual lawmakers spend researching issues. If they don't have enough time to research issues, only enough to have someone in their party or caucus craft their message for them, then change needs to happen. Enough said.

I have recently recieved many emails asking me to sign petitions to prevent illegal aliens from gaining benefits. But I cannot determine from the Senate website what these benfits are. I would not want to disallow help for children and the elderly.
