Encouraging people to bike is a double benefit. It benefits in fuel saving. It benefits in reducing the need for more highways long term. And it benefits people’s good health.

I think we have to everything we can to encourage people to conserve energy. Bicycling is also great for health, so I hope more people will bicycle, run, walk, whatever.

If someone does the environmentally conscious thing, parks the car in the garage and rides the bicycle to work. We should reward that behavior.

As we deal with global warming and we deal with pollution, the idea of giving people options other than the automobile is very very good. I know in Vermont we are building a whole lot of bike paths. I strongly support bike transportation.
